Fall Craft Wrap Up

 Thanksgiving week was a busy one in our house between cleaning, grocery shopping, and crafting. Middle got to make three fall/Thanksgiving crafts and was loving it all. I already posted about his adorable windsock. Our next project was a turkey suncatcher to hang in our big dining room window.  We got all of our crafting supplies at Dollar Tree as usual. A roll of transparent contact paper, tissue paper in fall colors, and construction paper was all we needed. I started out by giving Middle large squares of tissue paper and instructing him to rip it up into smaller pieces. He wasn't sure about the tearing process, but we settled for momma holding the paper while he happily pulled off pieces.  I set the pieces aside and quickly cut out the outline of a turkey's tail from construction paper. I also cut out a peanut shaped head and neck, then added a face and set it aside. Next I cut a square of the contact paper just slightly bigger than the turkey outline and peeled the b...

Oh, the Places We'll Go!

It's been awhile since I posted. Between the hustle and bustle of hosting Thanksgiving and getting ready for Christmas, I haven't really had a moment where I wasn't doing something. I've been working hard on some more "mommy projects" and finally starting to finish some of them. This one is definitely one of my favorites. I've said before, I want to instill into the boys that life is about the adventures we take and the people we surround ourselves with. I came across this quote while surfing Pinterest (of course, right?) Being that Christmas is right around the corner, it was fitting. I wanted to do something special for all the boys that wasn't just a bunch of stuff under the tree that they'll no doubt forget about in 6 months. And so, a new family tradition is born.
