I heard a great joke about puzzles, but I forgot it...

It'd be great if someone could help me piece it together πŸ₯

Jaunary 29: National Puzzle Day

A great way to relieve stress or be entertained, today is a great day to do a jigsaw, solve a crossword, or tackle a Rubik's cube. The first jigsaw puzzles were created in the 1700s by a cartographer as an educational tool for children.

When Middle and I were out purchasing his kazoo, we also snagged a wooden Paw Patrol puzzle set in preparation for today.

There's 5 different puzzles included with varied amounts of pieces. It came in a neat little wood box with storage and a place to assemble the puzzles. A steal at only $5! Each puzzle piece is also conveniently numbered on the back so there's no guessing as to which piece belongs to which puzzle.

Middle has a couple wood alphabet and number puzzles which he just has to lay the letter or number into its designated hole on the board. He's never tried an actual jigsaw so we picked out one of the easy puzzles, only 8 pieces. I showed him how the pieces fit together, and he actually picked up on the concept fairly quickly. I attribute it to the fact that he's been playing with his train tracks and they have similar connections. I spread out the pieces and let him explore.

He needed a little help picking the right pieces, but he caught on and we were finished in no time. He was so proud of his hard work.

We'll be slowly working up to the bigger puzzles in the set, and I'm sure before we know it, he'll be helping his Papa with the giant puzzles on the table!
