The Pastabilities are Endless!

It's a cold windy day outside, but in the kitchen, Middle and I are working up a sweat....

January 4th: National Spaghetti Day!

The first National Spaghetti Day originated in 1953 when a restaurant in Washington ran a Thursday night special. Even if it was just a marketing idea, this is one pasta that's worth celebrating. After all, it's been a staple in kitchens since the 12th century!

Middle and I couldn't just make any old spaghetti on a day like today. May I present to you, our rainbow spaghetti!

The process is really simple and the end result looks so fun!
First we cooked our noodles as normal and drained it. Then we added 2 Tablespoons of water and 20 drops of each food color that we wanted into individual sandwich bags. Next, add scoopfuls of spaghetti to each bag until filled and seal. Then Middle helped me swirl and smoosh around the coloring to coat all of the noodles.

Middle was the most excited to eat spaghetti that I've ever seen.

He ate the first bowl fast and asked for seconds.... This never happens! Can I make rainbow everything?

Momma just wonders one thing, does this work like when dogs eat crayons and have rainbow poop? Tomorrow should be interesting!
