 I said it on Peculiar People Day, I was thinking about dressing crazy everyday...

January 27: National Clashing Clothes Day

Celebrated on the fourth Thursday every January, today's all about having fun with your outfit and not worrying about the fashion police. 

Unlike Peculiar People Day, we didn't have any errands to run, so this was a strictly strut your stuff day inside. Since we weren't going out, I didn't need to worry about bundling the kids up so much. I let Middle choose what he wanted to wear from his dresser. Then we all threw on our slippers and spent our day warm inside.


Middle's sporting his favorite Paw Patrol slippers, a fashionable pair of gray Minions socks, blue pinstripe Thomas pajama pants, and a bright orange t-shirt proclaiming "The man, the myth, the legend... Just like dad." He also could be spotted at several times throughout the day with his explorer hat, though never when Momma had her camera ready.


Little is modeling a long sleeve blue bear onesie, red and navy striped pants, and green/blue/gray dinosaur socks. Not visible is his baby Sesame Street diaper. Quite the ensemble as well. 

Papa R must have taken my sentiment from Peculiar People Day to heart because he didn't even flinch when he arrived home from work, nor did he ask about the interesting clothing. I guess Momma's gonna have to try harder next time 😂

 Ever seen the Netflix show Nailed It! ? Well if you have, you know which direction this post is heading. If you haven't, first, do yourself a favor and go giggle at a few episodes... after you're done reading, of course. Second, the premise is simple: Home bakers who have a poor track record in the kitchen compete to see who can make the least cringe-worthy recreation of a edible masterpiece. While this particular craft is not edible, I had some Nailed It worthy moments. It started with a simple Pinterest idea... And then there was trouble. Oh, the Places We'll Go!

It's been awhile since I posted. Between the hustle and bustle of hosting Thanksgiving and getting ready for Christmas, I haven't really had a moment where I wasn't doing something. I've been working hard on some more "mommy projects" and finally starting to finish some of them. This one is definitely one of my favorites. I've said before, I want to instill into the boys that life is about the adventures we take and the people we surround ourselves with. I came across this quote while surfing Pinterest (of course, right?) Being that Christmas is right around the corner, it was fitting. Design on a Naptime

Cold temperatures and early sunsets are creeping in around here. That means spending a lot more time inside. That also means I tend to get into a nesting state and start projects around the house. With two little ones already keeping me busy, starting and competing big projects has been tricky. I have, however, managed to tackle a few over the past week, during those two daily glorious hours of naptime. For my first project, I dug out an old piece I've been saving. Back when Papa R and I first moved into our current house, we were showing some visitors around and one of them happened to notice something peculiar nailed into the rafters of the basement ceiling. Upon further inspection we found a wooden key holder (it's wood and says "keys").
