Channel the Flannel!

Quickie post for today's adventure. It's First Friday here in our town and that means fun activities downtown. Each month encompasses a different theme. Since it's supposed to be the beginning of fall, this month's theme is "Channel the Flannel." No one told mother nature though, so it's a balmy 79 outside. We did the best we could with our plaid choices considering the weather. I loaded Middle and Little into the stroller and walked the three blocks to the festivities.

First up was the Pumpkin Patch! Middle got to select his very own pumpkin and while the volunteer was washing it, he surveyed the rest to make sure he'd picked the best one.

Then it was off to the art studio across the street to paint our masterpiece. The women who ran the studio fell in love with Middle. He charmed them with his knowledge of colors, talk about train tracks, and willingness to get paint everywhere, and I do mean EVERYWHERE. After he finished up painting, they gave him his very own brush to take home as well, but not before making sure he knew it was, in fact, a "bluuuue" brush.

Back at the square, we got our very own s'more making kit and Middle was the first to roast his marshmallow in the fire. Nearby, the DJ was playing tunes so while Middle enjoyed his very first s'more, he decided to bust out some of Papa R's dance moves...

After hanging around and letting mommy finish her fall drink, we loaded up and headed home to meet up with Papa R and Big for our traditional Friday night pizza dinner. As I write this, its way past Middle's bedtime, but between the sugary treat and the excitement of the night, he's still boogying. Might be a hard crash for my little buddy tonight, but most definitely worth it.
